LEGO launches new building sets for smartphone-addicted generation
Share
Most of the parents complain that their children are smartphone-addicted, it looks like the world now exists in both realities, digital and physical. This did not lead to the gradual reduction of LEGO, despite the fact that it is broadly known as a maker of physical toys - and its latest sets now erase the limits of physical and smartphone games.
These building sets are called LEGO Hidden Side, which has become a series of ghost-themed kits, now manufacturers give them a second life with the Hidden Side app for smartphones, which allows you to interact with kits using augmented reality (AR).
In the application, you must resolve puzzles by interacting with the set, using the smartphone's camera to scan and recognize the changes made. You can look at all eight Hidden Side kits on the LEGO website.
Thus, you can warmly remember how you played with your LEGO Knights, Rock Raiders or City, open buildings by playing with minifigs; but your children may remember doing likewise while looking at their smartphones.
Unfortunately, this is our future, the future of digital generation and LEGO tries to keep up with the trends.
At first you need to download the app from the App Store or Play Store called LEGO Hidden Side. Once you launch the app you will see two available modes: The hunter and Ghost. Each of them brings different gameplay and interactions in the real world. Hunter mode is related with augmented reality gameplay where you will have to scan your building set and afterwards solve various puzzles by interacting with set in real life. For example: moving minifigs to different locations or changing some parts of a set. The ghost mode doesn’t require a set near you. You will see the set on your phone’s screen and will be able to interact with it in digital world.
