Lego is considering potential renting scheme

Thus, the largest toy manufacturer plans to fight for a clean environment. The company is often concerned about the environmental issue: Lego produces 36 thousand plastic blocks per minute and the packaging is also mostly made with plastic.
Due to criticism, the company has already promised to abandon materials produced using fossil fuels by 2030. In addition, some of the parts of the kits are already made from polyethylene based on plant materials. However, an alternative for materials that make it easy to separate and reconnect parts is not found yet.
The vice president of the company Tim Brooks said that while there are several ideas on how to organise Lego rental, there is not even a rough plan, and there are many obstacles to implement this scheme. If only because some building sets are very complex, with several thousand parts. “And what are the chances that an eight-year-old child will return the set complete,” – said Brooks.
Recently, the company introduced the first in 30 years global advertising campaign "Rebuild the World", the objective of which was the development of creativity of the child.
