For the Comic-Con festival, which takes place in San Diego, a team of engineers assembled a sculpture of the main hero of “Iron Man” Tony Stark. The height of the sculpture is 190cm, weight - 85kg. The creation of the exhibit took 35,119 designer parts. 255 working hours were spent on assembling the sculpture.
The sculpture of Tony Stark was designed by Lead Model Designer Greg Omartian and Senior Model Builder Jeff Rushby.
“At first, we took a long time to design the sculpture. To do this, they sent us Marvel referents. Then we created our own 3D model that could be implemented using the LEGO parts,”- Omartian explained.
The most difficult stages of work were attaching the limbs to the body and lighting up the sculpture with LEDs.
“Iron Man”, Tony Stark, is a Marvel comic book character. It was created by writer Stan Lee, screenwriter Larry Lieber and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. Stark is an inventor who, after being wounded, created a high-tech armour suit.
