A man bought a bag of LEGO for a pittance and suddenly became rich
Share
Reddit user @Jogdish23 shared an unusual story that happened to him. The man said that he decided to replenish his Lego collection and purchased online from an unknown seller a huge bag filled with LEGO parts from different sets and series. The purchase cost the man only $35, and what was his surprise when he found a rare golden minifigure among the usual plastic parts.
Since the man had long been fond of collecting Lego, he immediately recognized in his find Mr. Gold - an original mini-figure of gold color, which could not be purchased separately, like other characters, but only accidentally found in one of the sets released in 2013. Mr. Gold was released in a tiny edition of 5,000 copies all over the world, so the price of such a figurine at auctions today can reach several thousand euros or even more.

The desire of collectors to own a copy of Mr. Gold is so great that some of them even create copies of it with their own hands, based on ordinary Lego minifigures. The minifigure is so valuable that there is also a special storage case on sale. It is still a mystery whether the lucky man will keep the rare find for himself or will decide to put it up for auction to earn a big sum.
