Presentation of the new Lego collection set 18+ "Black Panther"
Share
Hello! Today we'll talk about a large set, which LEGO managed to announce with almost no leaks. An amazingly good set that is doomed to be forgotten almost immediately after a great presentation. I'm pretty sure that even in The Lego Group's office they didn't want to release this set, but they supported the allies from Marvel Studios. Let's check it out.
On November 11, 2022, Marvel Studios' next blockbuster, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, hits theaters around the world. It looks like this set was "invented" for the sake of supporting movie fans.
We begin our acquaintance with the new product, of course, from the box. So, the set is 18+ and consists of 2961 parts. Very impressive! In fact, this is a bust with the wrists of the main character of the movie - Black Panther. Behind we see photos of this superhero.
To be honest, I read the official press release and am in shock. "Greatest superhero of all time", "a bust of an iconic superhero".
The Black Panther character first appeared in the 1966 Fantastic Four comics and became super popular after the 2018 mega-hit movie Black Panther, which really solidified his place in popular culture and inspired millions with his honor, pride, and courage.
All my friends who went to see the movie spoke very badly about it. With boring characters, an uninteresting plot and weak acting, and a sea of pathos. But judging by the list of foreign awards, we still have a masterpiece. So who is right, write comments, did you like the first movie or not?
The main complaint about the helmets and busts of the past is the size. But this set is as close as possible to real values: 39 cm in width and 46 cm in height. The main feature was the hands with the movable fingers and the joints - they can be clenched into fists, straightened, or removed, to leave the head with only the neck.
Separately, it is worth noting the accessory in the form of a necklace of a comic book superhero. This decoration can also be removed from your bust, or vice versa left as in the instructions.
I don't want to sound racist, but this "cult" superhero from comics is very far from Spider-Man, Iron Man, and even Thor. It's hard to imagine how many purchases there would be from the bust of Batman. You can remember the Hulk, Deadpool, Wolverine, and even Superman. Although the Hulk and Superman do not have recognizable masks. But there is also Wonder Woman, Captain America, and many more characters who have contributed more to this cultural layer than Black Panther.

- Dimensions: The bust measures 39cm wide x 46cm high

I really like the idea and implementation of this set. This bust opens up broad prospects for us to receive in the future a whole line of large collections from George Washington to Batman. After all, Spider-Man fans will line up at the start of sales to get themselves such a valuable exhibit. But Black Panther, in my subjective opinion, is a failure. The character does not have an army of fans, the set is very expensive. These two factors will create a bad box office for the set.
