Lego Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 gets electric engine and gearbox

The engine starts with the sound of a real Corvette.
YouTube blogger Hyper Blue bought a Lego replica of a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and fitted it with a real engine and a working gearbox. In a four-minute video, he showed the new systems of the toy car in operation.
For the Corvette, the blogger built a miniature dynamometer, also assembled from LEGO parts. On it, he placed the ignition switch, a lever for turning on the electronics, a miniature pedal and an engine start button, when pressed, the pre-recorded sound of a V8 of a real Corvette is heard.
A tablet connected to an electric engine and drive wheels serves as a dashboard. It displays information about the speed with which the model could move, the engine speed and the degree of pedal depression.

The blogger made the model a mid-engined model. The electric engine is paired with a small four-speed manual transmission, which can be shifted using a removable lever. To prevent the engine from stalling in fourth and third gears, the blogger built a mechanism that raises the stern of the car and allows the rear wheels to spin freely.
In addition to the engine and transmission, the toy Corvette, which the blogger spent about 10 months on assembling, received working front and rear optics.
Previously, a copy of the Corvette ZR1 from Lego was tested in a crash test. The model withstood a collision with a barrier with 100% overlap at speeds of 4 and even 16 kilometers per hour with dignity, but at higher speed, it lost its wheels and lost its suspension.
