16-year-old Radek Popík from the village of Mezina in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic assembled well known ship from Star Wars universe. The model, created according to the student’s own project and it is officially included in the Czech Book of Records.
The achievement was registered by the Dobrý den agency in the city of Pelgřímov. The size of the starship is 163 x 118 cm. This is three times larger than the serial LEGO Millennium Falcon. Most of the 70 thousand parts used to build this giant are grey. The total cost of the material was about 27 thousand crowns (about $1,200 USD), while Radek tried to use smaller parts, since they are cheaper.
The young man worked on the project from December 4, 2017 to July 21, 2018, mainly on weekends, but sometimes, as he claims, up to 46 hours in a row. He assembled the model in a room over the garage.
There is a lot of attention to details not only in the exterior but also in the interior. For example, inside there is a chess table, as in the scenes of a movie saga.
Radek plans to assemble a new model to set a world record. Now the achievement belongs to the model assembled by the Australian. Its length is about 4 meters.
