In a recent episode of This Week in Star Wars, the LEGO® Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release was suddenly announced. The video, however, was soon removed from the channel - apparently, the premiere date was announced ahead of plans.
Moreover, on May 4, it was expected that the release would take place during the summer. However, subsequent press releases have refuted this information - in the summer, fans of the franchise can only get various of details of the project.
LEGO® Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a brand-new Star Wars game that covers the events of nine saga films. According to the developers, the time has come to reinvent the LEGO® games - among other things, the perspective has changed, now the camera has passed over the shoulder of the heroes. LEGO® Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will have about 500 characters.
Traveler’s Tales previously released LEGO® Star Wars on almost every franchise movie. But, to emphasize the end of the Skywalker saga, it was decided to collect all the episodes in one game. “We all knew that in order to do it right, we must do it well and respect what we had before, adding new elements to the franchise,” said Craig Derrick. Lucastfilm Entertainment was faced with the task of creating an epic-scale project. This required new technologies, game mechanics, and an enthusiastic development team that created hundreds of characters and familiar worlds with the charm and humor that fans expect from LEGO® Star Wars.
LEGO® Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 20.
