First Look at Lego Summer 2022 Stuntmen City Series
Share
Today we will discuss the eight new sets of an interesting sub-series of the classic "City". This time, stuntmen will show us how to make a motorcycle out of a bathtub, are “dead loops” possible in an urban environment, and why do we need a scorpion cake? As usual, lots of motorcycles, bright colors and collectible minifigs. Let's go!
60331: Cruiser Stunt Bike
Let's start the compilation with three brand new stunt bikes at once. These sets have inertial engines, are distinguished by their quality and reliability, and often provide us with unique minifigures. Because of the relatively low price, they are very popular among kids and adults. It's nice to collect a whole collection of them and of course play!
So - we can see a dark blue bike with a print (or a sticker ?!) in the form of a howling wolf. The minifigure has a stylish skull with glasses on a chain around the neck, and black jeans. In general, I think the set is interesting. Details: 10 pieces, price: $8.
60332: Scorpion Stunt Bike
Now we have a Scorpion Lady with a unique helmet. I really want to rake all the motorcycles in bulk, even if only for the sake of minifigures. And even better, 2 copies at once, so that one is left in its classic form, and the second is rebuilt. For example, put other horns on the helmet and change the visor to a more brutal one. Great sets!
Details: 15 pieces, price: $8.
60333: Bathtub Stunt Bike
The idea is very cool, funny, but it is absolutely a failure. Can you imagine a child who will choose between a brutal biker and a fashionable mountain stunt bike - a bath with ducks? But for adults, it will do as a joke.
The bath is the main intrigue of the set. Can we really get a full-fledged part of the bath in our city houses in the future?
Details: 14 pieces, price: $8.
60338: Chimpanzee Stunt Loop
Here we have a slightly more impressive set. With a trick wheel in which your bike will perform a "dead loop". Sounds great! The kit includes a unique bike-plane with a girl at the wheel (steering wheel?) as well as a funny monkey and a microscopic tribune with two fans. I confess - it would be very curious to run the bike and see what happens. Maybe even a slow motion video. Also, the set as a whole has great potential to be redone.
Details: 226 pieces, price: $55.
60339: Stunt Show Double Loop
Suddenly, in the middle of the article, we got to the flagship set. The next three will be more modest. At its core, we just got an improved previous set. Again, the loop became the basis. In fact, there are now two of them. And this opens up many options for buyers at once - make them one by one, add fire or a springboard, arrange competitions for their motorcycles, etc.
The bikes themselves are rather boring, but there is a new girly helmet with braids, stylish stunt outfits. I also note a cool fire made of thin plastic, a dumb-looking car and another small tribune for fans.
Details: 598 pcs, price: $140.
Yeah, look at the HUGE price of the kit, apparently large loop parts are very expensive to manufacture. It is much more interesting to add only $10 and buy a train with an electric motor and rails than to pay SO MUCH for this generally simple set of six hundred parts (IMHO).
60340: Obstacle Stunt Challenge
Overall, there is nothing special in this set. But there is a collectible minifigure, a unique (at the moment) color guitar and cool wing swords. A bunch of speakers in the set make it clear that we have a music lover minifigure in front of us.
Details: 154 pieces, price: $20.
60341: Knockdown Stunt Challenge
And here is the scorpion cake. In fact, this set clarified some things. It became obvious that the helmet with horns and this helmet (as well as the headpiece from the flagship set) are the same items in different colors. It is pretty good news. And yet, we learn that the three final sets of the article are essentially the same set of challenges in essence. Just different in direction.
What will fall from above? Gift cake, scorpion or goblet? A strange set with a stylish black bike.
Details: 117 pieces, price: $20.
60342: Shark Attack Stunt Challenge
Let's stick two sharks on the blades, take a motorcycle-airplane, put a pirate pilot behind the wheel and sell it? What is consumed in the TLG office remains a mystery, but these are the sets that we have as a result. Even the barrels are covered with details that do not match in shade, so what's the matter? And now let's abstract from what we saw and try to analyze: two sharks, six barrels, a generally useful torso in a jacket, a hiking backpack that might come in handy, and a rare brown (or maybe unique) cap. Even the presence of these details makes the kit in demand for DIYers. So it's not all bad!
Details: 122 pieces, price: $20.
