One guy got a dream job: playing LEGO® fulltime!
Share

Yes, he is receiving monthly wage as well! But it’s not easy to get such a job!
It turns out that we all turned somewhere wrong. There is such a profession in the world known as LEGO® master builder. All day assembling LEGO and getting paid for it - isn’t this a dream job?! However, in order to get this position, you must pass a series of real tests. But James Windle made it.
Throughout his life, the 34-year-old man has worked in Tesco supermarkets. And all his life he adored LEGO®, which he started to love since childhood. He has been ordering new sets for every birthday and Christmas, devoted all his free time assembling and did not even know that there was such a vacancy as a “master builder of LEGO®”.
The announcement of such vacation, James saw on social networks and it would be folly to miss such a chance! He sent photos to the company of all those things that he built from LEGO®. And became one of 1000 candidates for this vacation! Such a contest!
At the last stage, 50 people were summoned to the LEGO® centre and given them half an hour to build. James assembled a hybrid of a unicorn and a monster, and also a scene with musicians.
A strict jury of children aged 4–12 years old rated the efforts of James, and he entered the top four finalists stage. After that, he met personally with representatives of the company. And one day, someone knocked on the James’ door. When he opened the door, he saw in front of him a man in a shark costume, who said: "You are hired." The man did not immediately believe it, he thought it was a joke, but that was how LEGO® decided to tell him this good news.
And since the beginning of September 2018, James has been working as a master builder at the LEGO® centre in Manchester. There are only 24 people in the world with the same job! The representative of the Manchester centre Jenn McDonough is pleased with the choice. “We had a thousand applicants for this position. Can you imagine how popular this job is? We chose James because he is ideal for this job - incredibly creative, talented, sociable, patient, and also - children love him.”
James, of course, is incredibly happy with his new job, especially since, as an employee of the company, he received a discount on LEGO® products. “It's like being a kid in a candy store,” laughs James. And we completely agree with him!
